Art Explorers is the Art Gallery of Ballarat's school holiday program, inviting children into the studio to survey artworks, discover the ideas and techniques used to create them, and chart a new course by pushing creative boundaries
This season they're inspired by the incredible tresses, curls, beards and hairdos in the Gallery's art collection. Using their online exhibition Bockas, Locks and Whiskers, this school holiday program explores how we use hair to express ourselves. Participants will use drawing, painting, printmaking and collage to create unique portraits full of movement, emotion and story.
Each 90 minute session is designed for specific age groups and will help curious children explore elements and principles of artmaking including line, rhythm, shape, colour, pattern and texture.
