Acclaimed British-Ghanaian artist and photographer Campbell Addy will front the 2025 Ballarat International Foto Biennale.
In an Australian premiere, his major solo exhibition I ❤ Campbell will headline the globally-renowned photography festival from 23 August until 19 October.
As a Black, queer, ex-Jehovah’s Witness, Campbell grew up in a hyper visible world, with his photographs drawing inspiration from his culturally diverse upbringing.
The likes of Kendall Jenner, FKA Twigs, Dr Naomi Campbell, Tyler the Creator and more have appeared in front of his lens, to be seen on magazine covers around the world.
I ❤ Campbell will feature a newly-conceived set of images, original paintings and a short film shot on location in Ghana, reflecting a personal meditation on the artist’s roots and inspiration.
"Our aim is to become a year-round destination for artists and audiences to inspire, create and partake in the culture of photography,” Ballarat International Foto Biennale CEO Vanessa Gerrans said.
The full Ballarat International Foto Biennale program will be released in mid-2025.
