Captains Creek rises on a mixed organic farm at Blampied, near Daylesford, at the foot of Kangaroo Hills. Four generations of the May family have run the 80 hectare farm for more than 110 years since 1909.

From the lush pinot noirs to bright chardonnays to thirst-quenching ciders, you will find the best selection of handcrafted organic wines. These include sparkling white and red, unoaked and oaked chardonnay, rose, pinot noir – a method champenoise sparkling apple cider and two farmhouse style apple ciders.

The inviting cellar door also offers delicious platters on weekends. The winery prides itself on sourcing the finest products from local producers in this rich food growing region.

Grab a table on the verandah overlooking the vines and countryside during the warmer months or beside the roaring open fire in winter. Try the popular tasting plate which is laden with a selection of local delicacies including Istra prosciutto, salami and hot chorizo, Captains Creek olives, marinated vegetables and house made dips served with local sourdough bread.

Bookings are welcome.

You can also stay in the luxury tiny house secluded amongst 35 acres of forest, or the onsite spacious 3-bedroom farmhouse for that long overdue family getaway or friends catch up.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities.

These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years.

As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
