Get ready to stitch, colour, and have a blast with Pauline O'Shannessy Dowling in this three-hour intro to Granny Squares at Sunnyside.

Perfect for beginners (or anyone who just loves a yarn), Pauline will show you how to make these iconic, colourful motifs that have been spreading joy around the world for generations.

Pauline brings warmth, creativity, and plenty of cheer to every workshop. You will get hands-on guidance, all the materials you need, and the freedom to play with vibrant colours as you craft your very own Granny Squares.

By the end of the session, you will leave with skills ready to grow into blankets, gifts, or keepsakes and a big dose of crafty happiness to take home.

Your workshop ticket also includes exclusive access to Chasing Sunbeams by Morag Myerscough. What a way to brighten your day.

Pauline O'Shannessy-Dowling is a Ballarat artist, illustrator, granny square maker and teacher. Her work is underpinned by a sense of joy and optimism. Her art reminds everyone that it's okay to wear your heart on your sleeve. As a teacher, Pauline hopes to inspire those around her, not just to see the world through a creative lens, but to build a daily practice of their own.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
