Enjoy a slice of Ballarat this August with the return of Ballarat’s Best Pie competition.
Take your pick from more than 35 savoury and sweet pies at some of the city’s top cafes, restaurants and bakeries.
On the menu at Nolans is the pork, mushroom & vermouth pie.
The pie comes topped with skordalia made from Mount Prospect potatoes and Meredith Dairy feta, and is served with a blackberry and vermouth jus.
"We wanted to create something truly unique that showcases the best of our local region – something that not only tastes amazing but also stands out visually from the traditional pie," chef Konstantin Putkin said.
"Rather than sticking to the classics, we set out to reimagine the typical pie by incorporating bold flavours, unexpected textures and ingredients sourced from local farmers and producers right here in the Ballarat area.
"Our pie tells a story of passion, local pride and a love of pushing culinary boundaries."
