Kilderkin Distillery's Spirited Sessions present a night with Aussie country musicians Paper Jane.

A Central Victorian Americana band originating just down the road from Heathcote, Paper Jane features wooden sonic tones and fragile unprocessed voices. Theirs are songs of Australian stories and life beyond the happy ending, from an era when songs weren't rolled in tinsel.

Paper Jane plays honest, analogue roots music. Frontman Buck Edwards teams up with fretless bassman Dom Redfern, drummer Michaela Burke and gypsy fiddle genius Scotty Jansen completing the line up.

Featured on the International Americana Music Show's best of 2020, Paper Jane continues to win acclaim with a shortlist for Best Regional Act in the Music Victoria Awards 2021, going onto release their second long player Across the Reservoir in 2020.

Paper Jane features powerful harmonies and roots swagger. From heartache ballads to new country anthems, the tunes of Buck Edwards make a humble submission to the Australian roots' songbook. If Johnny and Emmy Lou had some bizarre love child, that child would be called Paper Jane.

Rated in the top five live music venues by the Australian Good Food Guide, Kilderkin Distillery offers the perfect venue for live and intimate performances of folk music. With award winning spirits, light meals, craft beer, wine and soft drinks available at bar prices, you'll love your Spirited Session at Kilderkin.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
