Discover the world of 3D printing with a relaxed, hands-on workshop at Ballarat Hackerspace. No previous experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

Friendly volunteer members guide participants through the fascinating process of turning a digital design into a physical object. Explore how 3D printers work, discover their practical and creative uses, and learn how to find, prepare and print designs.

Participants have the opportunity to create their own small 3D printed object to take home as a souvenir of their experience.

Whether exploring a new hobby, looking for a creative family activity or simply curious about this increasingly popular technology, the workshop offers an accessible introduction to 3D printing.

Ballarat Hackerspace is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community workshop that has spent more than a decade helping people of all ages and abilities discover new skills. From electronics and 3D printing to laser cutting, woodworking and metalworking, the space brings people together through creativity, technology and hands-on learning.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
