Step back in time aboard the beautifully restored 1940s tram, Cuthbert's 939, and enjoy a truly unique high tea experience in the heart of Ballarat.

Your journey begins at the Ballarat Tramway Museum, where you can explore the exhibits before boarding. The tram departs for a scenic 1 to 1.5 hour ride along picturesque Lake Wendouree. Settle into plush red velvet seats, admire the polished wooden panelling, and soak in the gentle rhythm of this heritage icon.

Upon boarding, you'll be welcomed with freshly baked warm scones and a selection of hot and cold beverages. Soon after, indulge in a three-tier high tea tower brimming with sweet and savoury treats, all prepared in-house within 24 hours of departure. Only gluten-free and nut-free dietary requirements can be accommodated (must be advised at booking).

This experience combines vintage charm with gourmet indulgence, making it perfect for locals, day-trippers, and visitors seeking something truly memorable.

Please note that there are no bathrooms on board, and that there is limited storage available, so large bags and coats are not allowed. Please ensure you are on time so you don't miss the train.

Book now for an unforgettable ride through Ballarat's living history.

Full refunds will be issued if a session is cancelled due to weather, safety, or unforeseen track closures.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
