Hidden Gems at the Unicorn brings regional artists together in a vibrant summer showcase.
Twelve artists from the Hidden Gems Art Studios collective - representing the creative communities of Golden Plains Shire and Ballarat - will present a month long feature at The Unicorn Collection. Showcasing a diverse mix of painting, photography, textiles, ceramics, furniture, sculpture and mixed media works, Hidden Gems at the Unicorn highlights the depth and character of regional arts practice.
A special Meet the Artists session will be held on Friday 6 February, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, giving the community an opportunity to connect with the creators behind the work and hear first hand about their processes, inspirations, and studio life.
The Hidden Gems Art Studios collective is a growing network of artists based across the region, including Smythes Creek, Haddon, Smythesdale, Scarsdale, Sebastopol, Ross Creek, Dereel, Cambrian Hill, and surrounding areas. Hidden Gems is a unique collective of artists working across diverse mediums, united by a commitment to pooling resources, sharing networks, and promoting each other's creative practice. The Unicorn Collection, part of the Ballarat Evolve precinct, continues to support emerging and established artists through rotating displays, creative events, and space activation projects.
