Enjoy a slice of Ballarat this August with the return of Ballarat’s Best Pie competition.
Take your pick from more than 35 savoury and sweet pies at some of the city’s top cafes, restaurants and bakeries.
On the menu at Drive Cafe is the eggs benny pie.
Think ham hock and cheesy egg filling topped with a poached egg and housemade hollandaise sauce.
"Our eggs benedict with ham hock has been a staple of the cafe since its inception in 2019 and has been the inspiration for this pie," chef Macy Hilton said.
"We are using local ham hock instead of bacon for the meaty element and also making use of our wonderful egg supplier (Loughlin Park Free Range) for both the filling and the topper/sauce.
"We wanted to stay true to the things we know and love whilst also being a little bit creative and having some fun with it!"
