Things are getting snappy at Ballarat Wildlife Park this Croc-tober. Join them throughout October for a month of crocodilian discovery, activities and special experiences designed to build awareness of these remarkable reptiles and the importance of their conservation.

Follow the Croc Spot signs around the park to find juvenile freshwater crocodiles, adult freshwater crocodiles, Crunch and Bella the saltwater crocodiles, and American alligators. Take your time, look closely and discover the differences between these extraordinary reptiles. Hear from the expert crocodile keepers during the daily Crocodilian Talks and learn about crocodilian behaviour, adaptations and conservation. Get your Limited-Edition Croc-tober Crunch Cookies in the cafe and your croc merch in the gift shop.

The Croc-tober Junior Croc Keeper Experience invites all young crocodile enthusiasts to step into the boots of a wildlife keeper in an action-packed, two-hour experience. Participants will discover fascinating crocodilians, learn from the expert keepers and enjoy an exclusive taste of life as a reptile keeper at Ballarat Wildlife Park. This experience is conducted on Saturday 24 October at 10.30 am and 1.30 pm.

Croc spotting and daily crocodilian talks are included in admission tickets to the Ballarat Wildlife Park. The Croc-tober Junior Croc Keeper Experience must be booked seperately. Please visit the Ballarat Wildlife Park for more information and the booking link.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
