Creswick Museum

Creswick Museum is housed in the grand Creswick Town Hall complex, which was constructed in 1876 and added to the National Trust Heritage Register in 1971. The interior of the building is worth the visit alone for its magnificent staircase constructed of local basalt.

The building is a wonderful setting to browse the extensive collection of rare colonial paintings, artworks by Victor Litherland and the Lindsay family of artists, gold mining artefacts, and items related to the evolution of local government in the region.

The museum also holds a significant collection of historical documents, including newspapers, maps, books, and the personal papers of former residents who spent time researching the town's history.
