Ballarat’s Big Bite

Pie lovers, this is your chance to make history!

Join us at Civic Hall on Tuesday 4 August for Ballarat’s Big Bite, a spectacular community event celebrating the launch of Ballarat’s Best Pie 2026.

Together, we’ll attempt to set a record for the largest gathering of people eating pies simultaneously.

Adding to the excitement, the event will be broadcast live on Channel 7's Sunrise, showcasing Ballarat’s community spirit and pie-making pride to audiences across the country.

We’re calling on locals and visitors alike to be part of this fun and historic moment, bringing hundreds of pastry enthusiasts together in the heart of one of Australia’s great pie-making regions.

Doors open at 6am and close at 7am, with the event starting at 7.15am. The record-breaking Ballarat's Big Bite will be broadcast live on Sunrise at 8.10am.

Reserve your FREE ticket today and join us for a morning of fun, flavour and history as Ballarat takes on the record books with one giant bite.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
