Pie Passport 2025

REGISTER YOUR PIE PASSPORT

Ballarat's Best Pie is back in 2025, with bakeries, restaurants, brewpubs and distilleries across the city set to duke it out for the pie crown this August. Not going to lie, this is one hot competition and the ovens are already firing up.

If you've scored yourself a limited-edition 2025 pie passport at one of our events, you can enjoy six complimentary pies, one from each of the following award categories:

  • Best Pie (Grand Prize Winner)
  • Best Savoury Pie
  • Best Sweet Pie
  • Best Bakery Pie
  • Brilliantly Unexpected Pie
  • Pie With Purpose

Ballarat's Best Pies are blind judged each year, so no sneaky head starts!

We'll let you know by email where to find these six award-winning pies on 4 August 2025, once this year's award-winners are announced.

Once registered, your pie passport will be valid from 4 August to 31 August 2025, so you have plenty of time to savour these top pies.

Given there's so many delicious pies to try across the city in August, we recommend spreading the carbs out over a weekend visit – or maybe two!

Remember: you'll need to bring your pie passport with you to Ballarat and hand in the original category docket at the venue to claim each pie, so be sure to put your passport somewhere safe in the meantime. (Terms and Conditions Apply).

Please register your pie passport below and we'll be in touch with a reminder once we've finished baking.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
