A Wadawurrung Dja, Mount Buninyong and Mount Elephant Dreamtime Story – Shipping Container
Step into local Wadawurrung Artist, Jenna Olaker’s creative immersive display of the Wadawurrung dreamtime legend story of Bonan Youang (Mount Buninyong) and Terrinalum (Mount Elephant). Jenna has fully transformed a shipping container into an indigenous sensory and immersive experience depicting the Wadawurrung Dja, Bonan Youang and Terrinalum Dreamtime Story.
Both Bonan Youang and Terrinalum are important cultural landmarks on beautiful Wadawurrung Dja. The story tells the tale of two strong warriors, and it is one that is such an important part of their rich culture and heritage. Wadawurrung dreamtime legend states that Bonan Youang (Mount Buninyong) and Terrinalum (Mount Elephant) argued with one another and when the two men began to become enraged, they then decided to challenge one another to a fight at a place called Pitfield, near Lismore. During this fight, each of the men had a weapon – Terrinalum wields a spear, whilst Bonan Youang brandishes an axe.
Inside the Shipping container you will be transported back to the Dream time story with an immersive visual and sensory experience.
