#VISITBALLARAT

We Are Ballarat

We Are Ballarat is a rally cry to you, our wonderful Ballarat locals, to get behind – and celebrate – our great city.

Because We Are Ballarat. We Are ALL Ballarat. And together we will create the Ballarat of tomorrow.

BETTER WHEN WE’RE TOGETHER

Everything we love to do is better when we experience it with our favourite people.

So, let’s invite them all here and show off what our city has to offer.

Ballarat – better when we’re together.

Tips from a local

What are your favourite local places to visit and things to do when your friends or family visit?

My plans always revolve around food, let’s be honest. The Hydrant is perfect for brunch and a cheeky coffee. I can’t go past The Forge for lunch followed by an afternoon cocktail at Roy Hammond and dinner at Ragazzone or Moon and Mountain.

Do you have any spots you love to show off?

I think we take the beautiful Ballarat Botanical Gardens for granted sometimes! It’s a lovely spot to go for a picnic, fish and chips and a kick of the footy.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities.

These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years.

As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
