Wadawurrung Weaving Workshop

https://cms.visitballarat.com.au/app/uploads/2022/07/62cbd4f02c9a05b41076a584.jpeg

Connect with Country through the practice of weaving with Wadawurrung woman and fibre artist Tammy Gilson at Ballarat’s Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades.

Your experience starts with a walk with Tammy along the Yarrowee River where the memories are held by her ancestors. See through Tammy’s eyes how Country makes her feel.

Learn traditional ecological knowledge first-hand and connect with the resources and materials that will be used in the afternoon’s hands-on practice where you will learn Wadawurrung weaving techniques and make your own woven object under Tammy’s tuition.
