https://cms.visitballarat.com.au/app/uploads/2021/10/616d0c2a0bf44a9f42cfb898.jpeg

Explore how to prepare the fabric for dyeing, how to build layers to create depth of colour and how to finish the cloth once dyed.

Sovereign Hill together with Jude Craig introduce one of the Spring Series Workshops – How to Set An Indigo Vat

Over two days participants will learn how to set their own portable fructose indigo vat which they will take home with them to continue their practice.

The workshop frames indigo’s place in history and shows participants how to coax blue from this alchemical dye.

Explore how to prepare the fabric for dyeing, how to build layers to create depth of colour and (most importantly) how to finish the cloth once dyed.

Once the basic skills have been mastered, there will be an opportunity for participants to experiment with their own projects.

Please note, this workshop focuses on piece dyeing (fabric) and is not designed for yarn dyeing.

This event is a Covid-safe event and will be held with under the current Government Guidelines.
