Ross Creek Gallery is pleased to present ‘Work in Progress’, an exhibition by Sue Sedgwick.
For nearly 40 years, Sue Sedgwick has been devoted to the art of drawing, creating an extensive body of work from 1986 to 2024. Her strength lies in her mastery of the drawn line, depicting subjects from still lifes and domestic interiors to expansive landscapes. These works reflect her keen powers of observation and artistry.
Sue's work also includes travel diaries, capturing moments of exploration, and expressive portraits of herself and her children. The human figure has been a constant theme, allowing her to refine her technical skills while evoking beauty and intimacy.
As an artist and teacher, Sue is passionate about nurturing the next generation of creators. She emphasizes the importance of process, encouraging students to embrace the messiness and exploration of art.
‘Work in Progress’ offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her creative journey, revealing the dedication, observation, and experimentation that shape her art. This exhibition invites viewers to experience not just the finished pieces, but the evolving process of creation itself.
There will be an opening event on Saturday, 2 November, 1pm - 4pm
