Every day this summer taste the best of the west at historic Craig’s Royal Hotel with their Seasonal Summer Express Lunch. Executive Chef Ian Curley and Head Chef Scott Alsop went on a road trip and scoured the country in a 50km radius of Ballarat to make sure they were cooking with the best seasonal produce of the region.
“From the deep rich volcanic soils to the sandy loams of the Pyrenees this is one of the country’s best food and wine producing regions,” said Ian Curley. “For years I have been working with the likes of Judy Croagh from Western Plains Pork and Vicki and Nick Sher from Sher Wagyu,” says Ian. “It is a pleasure to feature their produce on our menu.”
Other produce included on the menu will be Tuki Trout and Tuki Lamb from nearby from Smeaton and Ballarat Mushrooms. The dishes may include Sher Wagyu Steak Frites and Western Plains Pork cotoletta with pepper sauce, but will vary throughout summer.
