A Corroboree by Full Moon will be held at Sovereign Hill on Sunday, 13 October 2019.
Beginning as darkness descends, Corroboree by Full Moon will feature Wadawurrung dancers and their friends from the broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Ballarat.
The performance presents an opportunity to learn about the region’s 50,000 plus year history and how we can all play a part in caring for Country. The event forms part of the annual Gnarrwirring Ngitj/Learning Together Program.
The inaugural Corroboree event held at Sovereign Hill in 2016 won the partnership between Ballarat’s Traditional Owners and the Sovereign Hill Museums Association a Museums and Galleries National Award (MAGNA) along with a Reconciliation Victoria HART (Helping Achieve Reconciliation Together) Award. It was believed to have been the first Wadawurrung Corroboree held in Ballarat for over 150 years.
Sovereign Hill’s new adventure Play Space will be open for ticket holders to enjoy prior to the performance.
