The Ballarat International Foto Biennale presents acclaimed Australian and international contemporary photography as one of Australia’s pre-eminent photographic festivals.

The Ballarat International Foto Biennale returns in 2021, with a headline of exclusive works by world-famous, award winning American photographer Linda McCartney. Immersing the historic city of Ballarat in photographic art for over 15 years, the Biennale has enriched the cultural landscape of regional Victoria becoming the most significant, prestigious photographic arts festival in Australia.

Encompassing two major photographic programs, the Biennale presents works from domestic and international artists that is new, previously unseen in Australia or conceptualised afresh, alongside an open program which fosters the development of emerging artists each year. The event includes public and education programs, comprising talks, workshops and prizes, which round out the rich and diverse cultural festival that attracts more than 30,000 people.

The Ballarat International Foto Biennale will take place over 28 August – 24 October 2021.
