#VISITBALLARAT

Greater Ballarat

The Ballarat region is steeped in history and culture.

Buninyong’s main street has some great examples of goldfields architecture, including the Town Hall, the Old Library and Mechanics’ Institute, and the Police Court House – all beautifully restored.

As well as checking those out, pop into one of the local cafes or restaurants, or you may even pick up the odd bit of vintage too while you’re at it.

And Learmonth has a bit of everything, with its sculpture precinct, great bird-watching, locally-made cider, heritage buildings and interesting vegetation.

To help you make the most of it, various local organisations have put together some self-guided heritage walking tours featuring the town’s heritage and contemporary locations.

Explore Buninyong

Buninyong lies at the foot of Mt Buninyong, the old volcano that has signaled home to countless generations of local Wadawurrung people and to the more recent settlers of the present township.
