With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we’ve put together this handy go-to on where to take your Mum or special someone in Ballarat (and what to buy her!) on Sunday 9 May.

Mother’s Day high tea at Your Mocha Your Mantra (1-3 Coliseum Walk, Bridge Mall)
Times: 11.30am and 1.30pm.
Showcasing local producers and suppliers through the menu, the high teas will also feature an entertainment space with live music (including a string quartet), dessert bar plus local gift bags for the mums. Tickets are $65 per person. Click here for details

Mother’s Day Racing at the Ballarat Turf Club (240 Kennedys Road, Miners Rest)
Time: Gates open at 11.30am.
An alternate serve two-course luncheon, race day admission, race book, a glass of sparkling for Mum and a kids activity bag for $60 per adult and $20 per child. Click here for details

Mother’s Day chef’s selection lunch at Ragazzone (319 Mair Street)
Times: 11.45am and 1.45pm
The mouth-watering feast will feature the likes of Moreton Bay bug, potato wafer, peppernata; pappardelle, beef cheek ragu, charred broccolini, pangratatta; and ‘raggamisu’ to finish. Tickets are $75 per person. Click here for details

Mother’s Day high tea at The George Hotel (27 Lydiard Street North)
Time: 12-2pm.
Tickets are $60 per person which includes champagne on arrival plus a spread of fresh scones with homemade jam and cream, ribbon mixed sandwiches, hot canapes (including arancini balls, sausage rolls and quiches) plus assorted delicate desserts. Limited spots available. Click here for details

Five-course lunch at The Shared Table (317 Learmonth Street, Buninyong)
Time: 12-4pm.
Chef’s Dine without Decision menu for $80 per person, which includes a glass of champagne and a sweet treat. Alternatively, order a takeaway Spoil Your Mum Treat Box for morning or afternoon tea for $80 (serves two). Click here for details

Mother’s Day paint and sip session at Pinot & Picasso Ballarat (204 Sturt Street)
Time: 2-5pm.

Ballarat’s Sanctuary Day Spa

  • Ballarat has a new workshop offering just in time for Mother’s Day – a beginners soap-making class with G made hand made soap. Make two batches (or 1.8kg) of your own all-natural soap on Sunday 23 May at Dunnstown’s Inglenook Dairy between 9am and 1pm.
