Sovereign Hill’s Lost Trades holiday program
When: April 6-22.

The blacksmith needs a new apprentice. There’s animals to be fed. And Brown’s Confectionery has lollies to make. This Easter holidays, Sovereign Hill is exploring the working life of the goldfields. Relive history and discover the lost trades with a range of exclusive workshops and free events. You’ll have the opportunity to make your very own chair, candle, rope and more. 

Plus, whilst you’re at Sovereign Hill, you won’t want to miss out on witnessing AURA. Explore space, delve into the Dreamtime and re-live Australia’s most important rebellion at the outdoor museum’s new sound and light show. AURA is set under the stars and features hundreds of stunning projections to create an immersive multi-sensory storytelling experience.


Ballarat Wildlife Park
When: Daily between 9am and 5pm.
Where: Ballarat Wildlife Park, 250 Fussell St, Ballarat.

Visit the Ballarat Wildlife Park and check out the two Sumatran tigers, Satu and Maneki. The park recently welcomed the tigers into its Tiger Sanctuary conservation display as a part of the Tiger Protection Conservation Unit. There are also plenty of native Australian animals that you can get up close with, such as kangaroos, koalas, meerkats and penguins.


Alice in Wonderland at Kryal Castle 
When: April 6-28, 10am to 4pm.
Where: Kryal Castle, 121 Forbes Rd, Leigh Creek.
Cost: Single pass $35, family pass $99 (single family $79) and concession $28.

Immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland at Kryal Castle these school holidays. Follow Alice down the rabbit hole to enjoy roaming performances, or let your kids dress up in their finest for a Hatter’s tea party. There’s plenty to do alongside other favourites at the castle such as jousting knights.


Maze House
When: April 6-22 between 10am and 5pm.
Where: Maze House, 3155 Midland Hwy, Newlyn.

Get lost in this astonishing 26-year-old hedge maze then explore the carnival garden and indulge in classics at the cafe’s milk bar. Plus, these Easter holidays, children win a prize for finding book covers hidden in the maze and a special Easter egg prize if they can find the hidden Easter Bunny.


Monster Easter Egg Hunt at Creswick Woollen Mills
When: Friday, April 19, between 2pm and 5pm.
Where: Creswick Woollen Mills, Railway Pde, Creswick.

Power FM and Mars Wrigley Confectionery 2019 Easter Egg Hunt
When: Saturday, April 20, between 10am and 2pm.
Where: Alfred Deakin Place, Ballarat.
