Get your blue suede shoes out and get ready for another famous street party as the Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival returns to historic Lydiard Street for another year of Rockabilly fun.
Whether you lived the era, or simply love it, the four day festival will throw you into 1950s nostalgia, as it sets to bring all things rockabilly to life once more.
Kicking off from Thursday 8 February, the festival will showcase all the fashion, the dancing, the music and the cars from the era, transforming the Ballarat street into a swinging party.
Ballarat beat will have five stages, showcasing the best international, national and local bands, with the likes of headline act – Lance Lipinsky, as well as Ezra Lee, Itchy Fingers, Louis Kind and the Liars Club, The mighty Kings, plus many more performing throughout the festival
On top of all the amazing music, there will also be a tiki bar, dance-floors, fashion parades, best dress competitions and the very popular Ballarat Beat Pinup competition, which will see both men and women battle it out for titles across five categories, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Geekabilly, Glamourbilly and Atomic Couples.
The popular free street party will also offer a range of family friendly fun, such as a hot rod car show, dancing and trade stalls, giving festival goers a chance to experience the era and take a little token home.
The festival will run from 8 – 11 of February and has free and ticketed events.
