Celebrate the city’s rich heritage, iconic landmarks and creative community at the award-winning Ballarat Heritage Festival this autumn. 

Presented by the City of Ballarat, the 21-29 May festival will feature authentic, contemporary and interactive experiences that unravel unique stories from Ballarat’s past. 

Highlights will include Craft Lab 22, the Ballarat Tweed Ride, the Ballarat Beard & Stache Competition, steam train shuttles and The Food Edit – a collection of contemporary eat and drink experiences with a heritage twist. 

In a massive coup for the city, the annual celebration won the ‘Festivals and Events’ category at both the 2021 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards and the 2021 Victorian Tourism Awards last month.

With ample accommodation offerings to choose from, visitors are encouraged to extend their stay and discover Ballarat’s many riches, including its vibrant food scene, award-winning attractions, galleries, vintage shops and more.   

The festival’s full program of events will be released in April.
