The newest additions to Ballarat’s food scene

A NEW year brings with it some new and very exciting arrivals in the Ballarat hospitality world. Think deluxe fried chicken, think artisan pies, think gourmet burgers. Hungry yet?!

Winner Winner

The duo who brought the ever-so-delicious Moon & Mountain to Ballarat are at it again. Teddy Powlett and chef Liam Downes are putting their spin on deluxe fried chicken with their new venture, Winner Winner, which is set to open at 32 Armstrong St Nth by the end of March. Joining the American favourite on the menu will be hot wings and craft beers.

Just a hop, skip and a jump away at 16-18 Armstrong St Nth, construction is underway on artisan bakery 1816. Second-generation baker Josh Chapman is opening the 50-seat bakery with the team from The Forge Pizzeria next door. Due to launch by Easter, 1816 will offer a delectable array of artisan pies, sourdough loaves, fresh sandwiches and much more.

Griffin Burger

After huge success in the Ballarat CBD, the boys behind Griffin Burger are expanding to Delacombe. The pimped-up burgers and loaded fries will soon be available at Delacombe Town Centre on the corner of  Glenelg Hwy and Cherry Flat Rd. Your waistlines have been warned!

Carl’s Jr. and Guzman y Gomez

American fast food giant Carl’s Jr. will launch its fourth Victorian outlet in Ballarat in 2019. The iconic Californian burger brand will open on the corner of Creswick Rd and Howitt St “in the first quarter of 2019”. It will be joined at the site by drive-through Mexican restaurant Guzman y Gomez.
