The best of Ballarat’s makers and artisans will be on show in Melbourne’s CBD from March 29 at the Made of Ballarat Pop-Up Shop.
In partnership with Visit Victoria, the pop-up shop will transcend the everyday shopfront, stimulating the senses and giving people a taste of what they can expect when they visit Ballarat.
Located at Shop 4, 218-242 Little Collins St, the pop-up shop will be open daily (10am-6pm) until April 24.
It will be an eclectic showcase of products, artisans and experiences. Think truffle salt and oil, bushfood spices, smoked trout, Saori woven and dyed clothing, one-off ceramics, jewellery, hand-forged knives, cordwainer-crafted shoes, prints, original artworks and so much more.
Pick up hints from the experts, learn new skills, watch the makers in action and even try your own hand. Much more than a shop, this is a stage, a studio, a foundry, a mill or any manner of creative space. Unleash your inner artisan.
“The Made of Ballarat Pop-up Shop celebrates Ballarat’s new generation of creators, makers and artisans – those who are challenging the status quo and inspiring positive change while staying true to the rich cultural history that Ballarat is indeed made from,” Visit Ballarat CEO Noel Dempsey said.
“Made of Ballarat is a campaign that demonstrates to those living in Melbourne, and beyond, that there is an undercurrent of imagination that pervades our region. By extending the campaign to this Pop-Up Shop, we are bringing a taste of Ballarat to Melbourne, providing a small sample of what’s waiting to be discovered here.”
