AFL is back in Ballarat, with the Western Bulldogs taking on the Brisbane Lions at Mars Stadium on May 11.
And we’ve got everything you need to know about the Round 8 clash to help make your game day experience as enjoyable as possible. Now if only we could guarantee a hometown win for the Bulldogs!

When: Saturday, May 11 (gates open at midday, game starts at 1.45pm).
Where: Mars Stadium, Creswick Rd, Ballarat.
Tickets: Adult general admission from $25. Buy online through Ticketmaster or at the gate.
Getting to the game
Thanks to the City of Ballarat, a free shuttle bus will transport fans from the Ballarat Train Station bus terminal to Mars Stadium from 11.30am on game day (perfect for those on the 11.40am, 12.40pm and 1.40pm trains). From 4pm, a return shuttle will depart Mars Stadium and drop passengers off in Sturt Street (opposite the Ballarat Town Hall) until approximately 6pm.
For those travelling by car, a free park and ride service will be in operation from 12.30pm. A shuttle bus will depart the Midlands Golf Club car park in Heinz Lane and travel to Mars Stadium, continuing a 20-minute loop until approximately 2.30pm. A return shuttle will operate from approximately 4pm.
On-street parking will be available in Howitt and Norman streets, as well as Creswick Road (north of Norman Street). Drivers are also urged to utilise the hundreds of parking spaces available at C.E Brown Reserve and surrounding ovals. These parking spaces can be accessed from Dowling Street and patrons will have access to the Mars Stadium gates via a short walk.
At the game
Join in the fun at the Fan Zone at Gate 3, with entertainment and activities including free face painting, a balloonist and magician, a Bulldogs Hair Styling Station, fun Bulldogs’ inflatable, player meet and greet, photo opportunities with Caesar the bulldog and The Pack mascots.
Western Bulldogs membership staff will be located in the Membership Club Hub outside Gate 1. Bulldogs merchandise can be purchased at Gate 1 and 2.
Score the chance to kick for $1000 at quarter time thanks to McDonald’s. There will also be a Maccas Kick 2 Kick after the game. And, if the Bulldogs win, get a free Big Mac redeemable at all Ballarat McDonald’s outlets post-match.
