Enjoy top Ballarat beer and gin in Melbourne

Made of Ballarat

25 Mar 2019

Learn about the art of brewing craft beer and distilling gin while sampling some fine drops at Melbourne’s Made of Ballarat Pop-Up Shop this Saturday, March 30.

Chris Pratt, Rebecca Matthews, and Scott and Vanessa Wilson-Browne from Ballarat’s Kilderkin Distillery and Red Duck Beer will be at the pop-up shop (Shop 4, 218-242 Little Collins St, Melbourne) between 12.30pm and 2pm for a free Meet the Maker experience.

When beer lover Chris set himself a challenge to try a different craft brew every day for a year in 2016, he kept running into Red Duck owner Scott. The duo crossed paths so often that they discovered a shared love of distilling and a business idea was born — Kilderkin Distillery, the Ballarat region’s first distillery since the 1930s.

This is the first of four Meet the Maker experiences which will held at the pop-up shop over the next month, giving Melbournians a taste of the best of Ballarat. Book your spot online by visiting madeofballarat.com.au

Kilderkin’s maker story

Ballarat has a long and storied history when it comes to distilling spirits, tracing back to 1864 with Warrenheip Distillery, the only whisky distillery in Victoria for many decades.
