Best value red-wine and superb sparkling; these are some of the words used to describe Blue Pyrenees’s award-winning vino.

Located in Avoca, the Blue Pyrenees Estate was established in 1963 by the French cognac and champagne masters Remy Martin.

Originally called Chateau Remi, the vineyard was one of the first modern Australian wine industry ventures into cool climate viticulture and has amassed a collection of impressive accolades since its inception.

A five red-star rated James Halliday winery, Blue Pyrenees is headed by chief winemaker Andrew Koerner who says the myriad of slopes, elevations and micro-climates within the vineyard amphitheatre make for the production of premium white, red and sparkling wines.

“The reason Remy Martin chose this spot was because of the knowledge of French wine regions. They knew from experience in France that these soils produce the best wines,” Andrew says.

“With low humidity and dry summers, the Pyrenees region is a grapegrowers paradise.”

As well as stunning wine, Blue Pyrenees provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, with its cellar door open seven days a week for tasting and sales.

Blue Pyrenees Estate is located at Vinoca Road, Avoca. For more information, visit
