Celebrate summer in Ballarat with the city’s biggest ever fireworks display this January.

The 15-minute fireworks spectacular will be held on Sunday 16 January at Lake Wendouree at 9.30pm.

It will bring to an end the final day of the 2022 Federation University Road National Championships plus week two of the city’s free Summer Sundays concert series at the nearby Ballarat Botanical Gardens.

Running from 4-8pm, the 16 January live music line-up will feature Australian rock icon Adalita, contemporary African funk ensemble The Public Opinion Orchestra, Melbourne singer/songwriter D’Arcy Spiller and emerging folk/pop artist Tim Currie.

Presented by the City of Ballarat, the 9.30pm fireworks display will be launched from the lake’s isthmus (near the Olympic rings) and three floating pontoons on the western side of the attraction.

The lake will be closed for all waterway activities that day from 3pm until 11.59pm, with no parking restrictions in place.

The City of Ballarat acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land we live and work on, the Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung People, and recognises their continuing connection to the land and waterways. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
