Sovereign Hill’s popular sound and light show has made its long-awaited return.

For the first time since February last year, visitors can once again experience the multi-sensory adventure of AURA under the Ballarat night sky.

AURA tells the story of gold in Australia and transports audiences into the Dreamtime and through to Australia’s most important rebellion.

Operating with a reduced capacity of 50 tickets per screening, AURA is operating on Saturday nights only until further notice.

“We’re so delighted to re-open AURA to our visitors once again,” Sovereign Hill deputy CEO Katrina Nitschke said.

AURA is the story of us as a community and a nation. Through the revolutionising impact of gold, our visitors can enjoy an immersive experience that follows gold from its creation and discovery, right up until today.”

“It’s fun for the whole family as they journey through space and time around Sovereign Hill to experience this immersive show.”

Screening times commence at 9.15pm throughout January, with adult tickets $45, children tickets $24.50 and family tickets starting at $101.

All tickets must be booked online at

To ensure Sovereign Hill is safe and secure, on-site payments are conducted via contactless bank card, sanitisation stations and clear social distancing signage are active throughout the site, and all staff, volunteers and visitors are asked COVID-19 screening questions ahead of entry.
