The Known World Bookshop started life in 2001 as Buninyong Books, located in the small historic former goldmining township of Buninyong, in country Victoria. In 2008 they moved to Ballarat trading under a new name, The Known World Bookshop. Today you can find them in the historic Bakery Hill precinct of Ballarat. The bookshop offers a wonderful selection of quality secondhand books in an eclectic Art Deco-inspired atmosphere.

The collection is comprehensive, with quality literature, modern classics, fine art, history, philosophy, Australia, militaria, science and technology, local history, poetry and more. There is also an excellent collection of children’s literature, including childhood favourites and classics, and a comprehensive selection of local history and Ballarat history.
