Local producer wins prestigious medal

Local producer Creswick Open Range Farm is celebrating after winning a silver medalat the 2019 Australian Food Awards (AFA) for their superb free range eggs.

This is the second time the family-owned business has entered the prestigious competition, with this year its most successful yet, missing out on a bronze medal last year by only half of a percent.

“We are shell shocked to be a silver medallist, as it really confirms that all the hard work is paying off and our products really are of a high standard, on a national scale” said Boyd Carmody, business owner.

You will find us on some of Ballarat’s best tables such as Mr Jones Dining , Moon & mountain and Pipers at the lake.

Ballarat is by far our biggest market . The food scene up here is as remarkable ,as is the central highlands as a food bowl .

The AFA, conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), offers Australian producers broad opportunities to leverage their success locally and internationally with AFA’s national brand seal of quality.

Entrants have the opportunity to benchmark against set criteria; receive invaluable independent feedback from industry experts; and be rewarded for excellence.
